The show must go on!

Fall fiesta is cancelled but the fall kickoff is not!  We will be there with all the calves catching rides to So. Utah.  We will also have a select few steers on display out back in the rodeo grounds that will be for sale private treaty.  If you were counting on the fall fiesta to find your steer, no worries.  We will have plenty to pick through.  Be sure to call ahead and place an order with me of what you would like to see.  I will have a really good Spanish Fork size calf on down to the state fair size.  More details coming soon.  Special thanks to the Spanish Fork fairgrounds for working with us and getting this deal all put together.

I am looking for someone to help with clipping jackpot cattle on Friday night and Saturday morning...Please call/text 208-880-7676

I think we found a gentle one

Here is Matthew Anderson from Washington performing a little steer whispering.  This calf has never been tied up or messed with.  He was clipped and that's it!  He will find his new home in St. George, UT.  Good luck Ashcroft family with this absolute gentleman.  The only problem you will have with him is loading him on the truck at the end of fair.

More Calves For Sale!!!

I hope everyone isn't thinking we sold all the calves last Saturday.  I still have a pile of them and some pretty good ones reasonably priced.  Here are a few the people didn't find in the cheaper pens that were bargains at the time.
Lot 92 Hollywood...I love this calf.  These are the types that don't jump out at you at first but just wait till August when he's fat and ready for that purple banner. $2,000
Lot 21 Monopoly...Here's a super stout, soft hairy Monopoly that would work awesome for an early county fair.  $2,000
Lot 20 Monopoly...Here is an embryo calf that is going to be awesome.  The Linnell family bought his full sib brother and they will have him looking sweet in a month guaranteed.  His full sister will be selling in the December female sale.  $1850
Lot 99 Unforgiven...For those of you who are into the super stout clubbies here he is.  $1600

Council, Idaho

I was up in Council today and saw some exceptional Angus cattle.  We are starting to run a lot more angus and I think we have a few pretty good ones.  We are using a lot of the Clubbier type angus blood lines and they are very gentle on the eye as compared to the carcass trait no muscle type.  I saw an awesome Gohr Lutton x OCC Joker and a super sexy LEEs Outlaw x TC Grid Iron.  Both cows were the high selling open and bred angus out of Yardleys about 4 years ago.  I will offer a few of these heifers for sale in the online sale in December.  These are the type of heifers that you can flush either clubby or angus.  Super deep and powerful with hair!

Sale Results

I would just like to thank everyone for a great sale!  Special thanks goes out to Mark Frisbey, Kelsey Stimpson, Marlee Lyons, Ty Lyons, Rene Lyons, and Nikki Van Lith!  If it wasn't for them I don't know how we would have got it all done.  We sold cattle into California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Nevada.  We still have a lot of county fair type steers for sale so if you are in need of a backup please let me know.
In the mean time we weaned some more calves yesterday in McCall Idaho.  I saw some exceptional Titan x Meyer Daughters (which would make them double bred Meyer).  Everything went smooth other then the Red Rock grandson that was in the cows...I don't mean Lautners bull either.  This is the Red Rock that killed Lane Frost in "8 Seconds."  Its always great to find a bucking bull in your registered Angus cattle!  Look for the heifers to be in my online female sale in December.  If some have a tick of ear you will at least know why :) Here is a picture of the pasture we came out of...

PICS COMING TOMORROW....Hopefully

I have had about 500 phone calls in the last week asking for pics and I have told everyone the same story...probably not going to happen.  Well thanks to the great help of Sarah Fuller (by far the best help I have ever had when it comes to mowing these things out) we got done a day early!  100 Head in two and a half days is not that bad if you ask me.  When you have to load a days work of calves on a semi  to take them back to the yard you know you are getting through them fast.

I am going to try to take some pictures Friday morning and post them on the blog by mid afternoon...I hope this will trip a few triggers and calm everyone down about asking for pictures.  I wish I could have done a better job but we are just to busy right now.  The calves look great and we are extremely excited to show off this set.
Heres a few phone pics I took at the end of today

This is only HALF of the calves!

Here is my best helper taking the calves to be sorted.  He is also the "make him walk down that fence man" for videos as well as the "get their ears forward guy" for taking pics.  Some calves end up with a bloody nose for not moving or are looking towards the ground in a picture but we make it work.

Last but not least after a long day everyone is in their pen according to price and at the bunk...well this is everyone except the "behind the barn" pen where everyone always wants to go first!
We will have 5 pens of cattle
1-Heifers
2-$1100-1400 Steers
3-$1400-1700 Steers
4-$1700-2000 Steers
5-"Behind the Barn" $2000+

In the heat of things!

We have about 50 head clipped and they are looking good.  We have many that will give ol whitey a run for his money.  Be sure to find the red Hairy Bear Lot 65.  He is a full sib to the 2010 Utah State Fair Champ but BETTER!  And don't forget Mr. Swagger Lot 46.  He was an absolute gentleman when he got his haircut and could be the stoutest calf I have ever sold.  I am sorry I don't have any pictures, we are just to busy trying to mow through these hairy beast

Here is another winner from last year

The Crown Jewel

The first ever "Crown Jewel Event" was a great success! Special thanks to Brad & Dawn Gohr for hosting one of the best managed/organized sales I have ever attended.  The top steer went to the Wolf Family in Molalla, OR.  Good luck to all the buyers!  Keep me posted how the calves do!
